Passport Fees: Countries Mostly Traveled by Nigerians

It has been disclosed by the Nigerian Immigration Service that from March 4, 2019; the agency would be issuing out the new international passport.

The part that worried me more was the new cost; It is said that registration and the issuance of new international passport would cost Nigerians N70,000 ($193.10).

As in, 70K. Considering the fact that the country’s minimum wage is N18k ($46.66) – well rumor has it that it would be increased to 27k ($74.48) soon – Heaven knows how soon.

It is in regards to this, that I decided to compare the passport prices of countries Nigerians visit the most, to ours. – Kindly update at the comment section if there is a country I missed out (and with passport price – I will update the list).

  1. We are pressed down on every side as a nation, even as entities, but my one question is, what’s the need for this increment, is it that the cost of printing suddenly went higher too, or the government just realized it’s a gateway to affluence? I need answers.
